Unibet is one of the larger online gambling and sports betting operators to establish a foothold in the US market to date. The company was founded in 1997 by a Swedish sports bettor who felt his experience gave him greater insight into the wants and needs of customers.
After more than two decades in business, Unibet made its US debut in 2019 with the launch of sports betting and casino games for New Jersey customers. A similar launch in Pennsylvania followed two months later.
Unibet was established in 1997 by an experienced bettor who wanted to create a betting site that was more in tune with what real customers actually want. Unibet has succeeded in that mission and has won numerous industry awards as a licensed online sportsbook.
- Legal, licensed and regulated in the USA
- Huge menu of sports betting options each day
- Frequent in-play betting events
- Simple, clean betting interface
- In-play betting needs more live stats and game updates
- Use of "Home Team" and "Away Team" labels is a minor annoyance
Unibet long ago graduated from struggling startup to established operator and now serves more than 25 million customers from around the world. With multiple gaming license in the US and abroad, we have no concerns regarding security or legitimacy.
Today’s Unibet review will focus instead on the experience from a customer’s point of view: how the odds compare to other mobile sportsbooks, sports coverage, handicapping features, casino games on offer and much more.
- Types of Gambling Offered: Mobile sports betting and online casino gambling
- Established: 1997
- Holds Mobile Betting Licenses in: New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Unibet Bonus Offers and Promotions
Unibet boasts a variety of standard online promos along with offers that extend into the real world such as tickets to see the NJ Devils.
One thing that stands out about the offers here is Unibet does not take the usual approach of sticking big numbers in players’ faces up front only to reveal a litany of terms and conditions that kill 90% of the value. Instead, Unibet bonuses tend to be smaller, more straightforward and ultimately more valuable.
No-Deposit Bonus: Two $10 Free Bets for Signing Up
Signing up for an account with Unibet will get you two free $10 bets with no deposit necessary. You can use your free bets by adding any selection to your betting slip and selecting the “free bet” option.
The free bets do not come with any complicated wagering requirements or onerous terms and conditions. The two main things to know are that 1) you must be physically located in a state where Unibet operates and 2) the free bet is not returned with any winnings.
Welcome Bonus: Up to $250 Risk Free Bet
Customers who go on to make a first deposit also qualify for a risk-free first wager. After you deposit, place a wager of at least $10 or more on any sport and if it loses, Unibet will refund it for up to $250. No bonus code is needed to claim this offer or the free bets.
This bonus is also offered without excessive terms and conditions. The only caveats are that the refund only applies to your first wager, your first wager must be at least $10 and you must have only one wager in your betting slip to be eligible. Most notably, this offer does not come with any wagering requirements.
Other promotions for existing customers change frequently but below are some examples of what was on offer at the time this review was written.
- Weekly Parlay Boost: Get payout boosts of 10% to 30% each week when you place 3-leg, 4-leg and 5-leg parlays. Maximum winnings boost of $5,000.
- Win NJ Devils Tickets: For every $10 wagered during the promo period, customers earned one ticket into one of five drawings for glass tickets or suite tickets to a NJ Devils home game.
- $100K Pigskin Parlay: Place a $10, 6-team parlay consisting of spread bets on the week’s NFL games for a chance to win up to $100,000 extra on top of your parlay. The catch is all six teams must cover the spread by an additional 9.5 points each to earn the extra $100K.
- Daily Odds Boost: Login to Unibet Sportsbook every day and visit the “Odds Boost” tab on the navigation menu to find a list of wagers whose odds have been enhanced for the day.
- Weekly Profit Boost: Unibet occasionally names specific games and enhances the net profit (up to $5,000) on a single wager of your choice. For example, Unibet recently boosted payouts by 50% on a Monday Night Football game.
Unibet Sports Betting Review
Unibet Sportsbook entered the US market with a full menu of betting options from the beginning. A simple interface upon launching the Unibet app belies an extensive array of sports coverage, frequent in-play betting events and many markets for every game.
We also compared the moneyline odds on a handful of randomly selected NFL games between Unibet, FanDuel and DraftKings to see how the odds stack up against the competition. We found Unibet to be competitive as it provided odds similar to, slightly better than or slightly worse than the competition in every case. In other words, Unibet is comparable to other major operators when it comes to value.
While Unibet is comprehensive in its coverage of sports, it lacks some of the additional features offered by the competition. This is especially noticeable in live betting events with the interface often only showings the odds and some very basic stats, which falls short of the in-depth stats and play-by-play updates offered by other sportsbooks.
The list of sports covered by Unibet is quite in-depth with wagers offered on all major pro leagues, college leagues and international events such as cricket and cycling. Furthermore, coverage of each sport is extensive with thousands of wagering options on offer some days.
For instance, on the day of this review, Unibet had more than 1700 NFL wagers, 2100 college football wagers, 2000+ hockey wagers and more than 50,000 soccer wagers on games hosted around the world.

Types of Wagers Offered
The sheer number of wagers offered for most events naturally lends itself to quite a bit of variety in the types of bets on offer. Unibet will at teams offer upwards of 200 wagers for a single NFL game to cover all manner of events.
A small sampling of wagers provided for a recent NFL game includes: moneylines, point spreads, totals, alternate lines, props (will the game go into overtime), team totals, half time results, winning margin, single game parlays, first team to score, first scoring play and much more.
Parlays and round robins are also supported. These wagers can be constructed from scratch by adding two or more selections to the betting slip and typing in an amount to wager under the “parlay” option at the bottom of the slip. Unibet will then generate the odds for that parlay and show exactly how much you stand to win.
Interface and Presentation
Visiting the Unibet website or launching the mobile app makes it clear simplicity is given high priority. From a design standpoint, the best word to describe the app is “clean.” The homepage presents a manageable number of options in tile format that include a few popular games, a tile that shows how many live events are in play and another tile to visit a list of soon-to-start live events.
Unibet manages to provide these options without going into information overload as so many other sportsbooks do in their attempt give customers a hundred options up front.
If you don’t see a wager that catches your attention, a simple navigation menu can be used to browse various sports and view all active promotions. There is also a handy search option that can be used to find specific sports, leagues and teams.
One minor annoyance related to the interface is a tendency for Unibet to label wagers as “Home Team” or “Away Team” rather than the name of the team. For example, a wager on the Texans to win by X points was labeled as “Home Team to win by X points.” You will see a confirmation on your betting slip before the wager is booked, but still it is easier than it should be to accidentally place a bet on the wrong team.
Unibet Mobile App Review
The official Unibet mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices. You can point your smartphone’s browser to the website for download links or search for “Unibet” in the App Store if you’re on an iPhone.
If you would rather not download anything, you can also visit the Unibet website to place wagers with no app necessary.
Unibet’s penchant for simplicity extends to the mobile app as well. Upon logging in, you will be presented with a short list of popular wagers and a link to view current in-play betting events. A small menu icon in the upper-left corner can be tapped to expand the full navigation menu where you can browse wagers by sport and view all upcoming events.
Tapping on the name of any team listed on one of the main pages will take you to a page dedicated to that game with a full listing of all available markets for that game. From there, you can tap on the odds next to any market to add that wager to your betting slip.
With the betting slip open, you can input an amount to wager and confirm the bet right there or tap the arrow icon on the slip to hide it from view so you can continue browsing lines and add additional wagers to your betting slip.
Overall, the Unibet app is easy to use and we have had no problems with it to date.
In-Play Betting Review
Unibet’s live betting product is quite strong in some areas and lacking in others. What Unibet does well with in-play betting is coverage of many events. It is common to log in any time of day or night and find 20 or more events in play at that moment with more scheduled the rest of the day.
A wide variety of sports leagues and games are covered with live markets, including all the major US sports plus a wide range of international competitions. If you can’t find a particular live event elsewhere, there is a good chance you will find it at Unibet.com.
Where Unibet lacks is in live updates and stats. In many cases, visiting an in-play betting page reveals nothing more than updated odds and maybe a handful of stats related to each team’s recent record. While other betting sites provide in-depth live stats and even graphic representations of what’s happening on the field, Unibet rarely provides such capabilities.
The end result is you are often left watching the odds at Unibet while having to look elsewhere for game updates and detailed stats.
Moving back to strengths, Unibet does excellent work in providing a large variety of live markets during ongoing events. For example, even golf tournaments are covered in greater detail here than at the average sportsbook with odds not only on the winner but also odds on head-to-head matchups on a hole-by-hole basis.
Unibet also provides extra short-term wagers under the “Action Betting” category. These bets are resolved within a minute or two and cover shorter events such as the next point in a tennis match or outcome of the next play drive.

Unibet Casino Review
The casino at Unibet consists of about 300 slots and table games with a clear emphasis on slots. Despite the relatively large number of games, Unibet Casino still feels like a bit of an unfinished product with only a handful of table games and video poker and no live dealer games.
However, a $10 registration bonus and a 100% up to $500 deposit bonus may prove tempting to players interested in building a bankroll. Wagering requirements hurt the total value of the casino bonus, but that kind of thing is par for the course when it comes to online gambling.
Unibet Casino is integrated into the mobile betting app and website, so there is no need to download a new app or sign up for a new account. One account is all that’s needed for slots or sports betting.
The full list of games on offer includes:
- Slots (280)
- Video poker (3 games)
- Table games (9 games)
Unibet Casino Bonuses and Promotions
Unibet Casino welcomes new customers with a two-part welcome bonus that includes $10 just for signing up and a deposit bonus worth up to $500. Ongoing promotions for existing customers are in short supply, but Unibet does usually have something on offer each week.
To begin, Unibet offers a $10 welcome bonus for signing up for an account. After you register and verify your identity, Unibet will add $10 to your account to try the casino with no risk. Use the bonus code UBCASINO10 when signing up to claim this offer.
After you get a chance to try the casino for free, you can make a deposit with the promo code UBCASINO500 to claim a 100% bonus worth up to $500. This means your first deposit will be matched 100% to give you up to $500 in extra bonus funds.
Both bonuses come with a 25x rollover requirement on the bonus amount. This means you will need to place a total sum of wagers equal to 25 times the bonus amount prior to withdrawing the bonus funds or any winnings.
For example, you will need to place $250 worth of wagers to release the $10 bonus. If you claim a $100 deposit bonus, you will also need to place an additional $2500 worth of wagers to clear that bonus.
Also note that only slots count 100% towards meeting the wagering requirements. Any wagers placed on table games only count 20% towards the rollover.
Unibet runs a bit lean when it comes to ongoing casino promotions, but something you will find often is the game of the week with a special offer related to that game.
For example, Gonzo’s Quest slot was named the game of the week recently and anyone who wagered a total of $100 on the game earned a $25 bonus.
Slots account for a large majority of Unibet’s game selection with nearly 300 of all different types to choose from. The slots collection includes titles from NetEnt, Bally, High 5 Games, NextGen Gaming, NYX and more.
The variety of slots developers is a plus as it provides diversity in terms of graphics, style, play speed and betting limits. There is not much to speak of when it comes to jackpot games, but Unibet does offer Divine Fortune which boasts some of the biggest jackpots seen in the US online gaming industry to date.
One downside to the slots collection is Unibet does not offer an easy way to sort the games by developer or type. All slots are listed in one big area and the only way to find a particular game is scroll up and down or use the search function to find a game by name.
Table games are limited in number and variety with a total of just nine games on offer and all are variations of blackjack or roulette. Other games such as craps, baccarat, three card poker and so on are nowhere to be found.
The table games lineup includes:
- Roulette (6 variations)
- Blackjack (3 variations)
The video poker selection is even more limited with just three video poker variants on offer. These games are lumped in with the slots collection, so finding them can be difficult. The best option to find these games is to use the casino search feature to search for “poker.”
Video poker games offered:
- Game King Bonus Poker
- Game King Double Bonus Poker
- Game King Jacks or Better
Live Dealer Games
Unibet does not offer live dealer games at this time, but there are indications that could change. For one, the Unibet USA website mentions live dealer games being offered even though none can be found today.
Secondly, Unibet has plenty of experience with live dealer games on the international stage. The non-US edition of the website is stocked full of live dealer games of many different types including blackjack, roulette, Monopoly, Money Wheel and more.
